Residents in Laredo, Texas can be Fined up to $1,000 or 180 Days in Jail for Not Covering Their Face

The city council just passed this startling motion amid the coronavirus outbreak.

All residents in Laredo that are five years and older are required to have their nose and mouth covered in certain areas.

Per the motion passed in Laredo, you must have your nose and mouth covered in the following areas:

-When entering all public buildings

-When using public transportation

-When pumping gas at any gas station

Those who do not conform to the motion could be subject to a fine of $1,000 or spend up to 180 days in jail.

The original motion included anyone, no matter where, must cover their face or be subject to a fine or imprisonment, but that was later revised as they felt it was too broad.
