In a shocking vote, the Minneapolis City Council voted to disband the police department. In its place, a "community-based" public safety program will be invested in instead.
After waves of protests across the Nation, Lisa Bender, the City Council President, and other council members voted in favor of disbandment given the calls to defund the police by protestors.
According to Forbes, this vote is not able to be vetoed by the city mayor of Minneapolis.
Could something similar happen in major cities across the Lone Star State? What if city council's voted to disband Dallas, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio Police Departments? Are you in favor of this? Vote in our poll below, and comment why in the comment section at the bottom of the page.
