The production of Corona, Modelo, and Pacifico beer in Mexico is being suspended temporarily due to the coronavirus.
The Mexican Government ordered non-essential businesses to close down, which led to Grupo Modelo to temporarily suspend production.
If the Mexican Government deems them essential, the company has a plan in place to have more than 75 percent of the staff work from home to supply the world with beer despite the shut down.
A survey by CBS News showed that 38 percent of American beer drinkers who were surveyed would not, "under any circumstance," buy Corona beer, most likely due to the close association in name with coronavirus.
According to the New York Times, Mexico has had 1,500 coronavirus cases and 50 deaths so far.
