A Massive Tesla Plant Could be Coming to Austin Texas

A county in Texas just approved major tax breaks to attract the electric car giant.

Travis County just approved a $14.7 Million tax break to Tesla if they build a $1.1 Billion Tesla plant.

The proposed plant would go near Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. If the project goes through, this could mean thousands of jobs for Texans around the Austin area.

The Austin Green Development is the proposed location of the new Gigafactory for Tesla, which is approximately 12,000 acres and sits on the Colorado River. The location is next to the 130 Toll Road.

There are roughly 10,000 employees at Tesla's California based Car Plant currently according to CNBC.

Thousands of decent-paying jobs would be created for Texans in the area if the project goes through, stimulating the local economy even further as more and more Tech companies relocate to the Austin area thanks to Texas' business friendly regulations, labor laws, and tax incentives.
