The amount of people applying has devastated the Texas Workforce Commission.
According to KSAT, many Texans who have applied for unemployment relief for days to even weeks say they can't get through.
The article also stated that the increase in applications for unemployment has overwhelmed the Texas Workforce Commission's ability to help, as there are extremely long wait times on the phone and even website crashes.
According to the Texas Tribune, a normal call volume for the Commission is between 13,000 and 20,000 calls on an average day.
This last week, that number went over 1.5 million calls in a single day.
